Mix:
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla

Add:
2 cups flour
2 cup chopped nuts
6 ounces chocolate chips

Mix the first three ingredients. Mix in the rest of the ingredients very well.

Spread in an ungreased jelly roll pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes, or until very lightly browned.

This recipe makes a lot of cookies quickly. It goes back to the 1950’s, when the Swanson family lived on Merritt Street. It may have come from Better Homes and Gardens.
