4 medium potatoes, peeled and diced.
2 1/4 c water.
1/2 tsp salt.
Small onion diced. (may omit).
1/2 medium carrot, peeled and diced. ( to add color as well as flavor ).
1 generous tbsp flour.
1 3/4 c milk.
1 tsp garlic salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cover vegetables with 2 c water. Add salt. Bring to boil and simmer until potatoes are done. Stir flour into remaining 1/4 c cold water,stir until smooth. Add milk to thin, then stir this mixture into vegetable mixture continuing to stir until soup thickens. Add remainder of milk and 1 tsp garlic salt. Allow soup to thicken - but do not boil. Serve with saltine crackers.
