Family Style Cheese Fondue Recipe

3 T. butter
3 T. flour
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 tsp. salt
dash of white pepper
dash of nutmeg
2 1/2 c. milk (scalded if in a hurray)
1 lb. processed Swiss cheese - shredded
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
dash of Tobasco sauce
1/3 c. white wine (or milk if preferred)
2 T. Kirsch (or milk)
French bread - cut into 1 inch cubes

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in ceramic fondue pot over a medium direct flame. Stir in next five ingredients. Stir in milk; cook stirring constantly until sauce is smooth and thickened slightly. Lower flame. Add cheese in small amounts until cheese is melted. Stir in remaining ingredients except bread.

Variations:
Add 1 or 2 cans (4.5 oz.) finely chopped shrimp.
Also could add 4.5 oz. sliced mushrooms (drained and finely chopped) with 2 tsp. chives.
