2 lbs. round steak, 3/4 inch thick
3/4 c. plus 2 tbsp. flour
3 tbsp. vegetable oil
2 medium onions
2 tsp. salt
dash of pepper
1/2 tsp. crumbled basil
1 clove of garlic peeled
1/2 c. water
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 cup evaporated milk

Directions:

Cut meat into six individual servings. Sprinkle with 3/4 cup flour: pound with meat hammer or edge of heavy saucer. Heat oil in electric skillet;set at 300º. Add onion;cook until transparent. Remove from skillet. Increase heat to 360º. Add steak; brown on both sides. Cover meat with onions;add salt, pepper, basil, garlic, water and vinegar. Set heat at simmer. Cover and cook for 1 hour and 30 minutes or until meat is tender. Remove meat and onions from skillet to a warm platter. Discard garlic. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of flour into liquid in skillet, blending well. Slowly stir in evaporated milk to keep mixture smooth. Continue simmering until gravy is hot and bubbling, stirring constantly.
