I remember all of us standing around in the kitchen before prayer one Thanksgiving. This moment stands out because at the end of prayer, just after Grandpa Rouland said amen, I looked up across the table from me and there was Grandma Dorrie, looking me square in the eyes and smiling sweetly. Just as I smiled back to her, she gave me an ever-so-precious wink. It was the most special moment I've ever had with her. I've tried to learn to wink ever since, but sadly, to no avail. I will need to think of something comparable to share with my grandchildren when the moment presents itself.
