In one word...HOT! I remember something about carrots, sitting on a porch, a long drive, few kids to play with, and extreme heat. I can only remember going there once. My favorite part of Holtville is the joy that would spring into my mom's voice as she mentioned it. Trisha has the same expressions. I never understood it for myself, but loved the way both of their faces lit when either of them mentioned it. I could tell that it was a very special place to them, and loved that they had that.
