1 c. butter
1 3/4 c. sugar
4 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. almond extract
1 1/2 Tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3 c. flour
1 can cherry pie filling


Glaze:
1 c. powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. almond extract

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and butter together. Add eggs, vanilla, baking powder, flour, and salt. Pat into greased cookie sheet. Mark batter into checkerboard fashion, 2x2 inch squares. In small bowl, mix cherry pie filling and 1/2 teaspoon almond extract. In center of each marked square, put 2 to 3 cherries. Bake at 350º for 25 minutes. Remove from oven and cool for 10 to 15 minutes.
For glaze, in a small bowl, combine powdered sugar, milk, and almond extract. Drizzle glaze over top of squares. Cool completely before cutting.
