1 lb. of hamburger or upscale it and use diced round steak
oil to cover the bottom of your pan
flour for thickening
biscuits, or toast
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Put oil in the bottom of your skillet. Heat it up, add your meat. Cook meat until done, if you are using round steak, brown it first. Once meat is cooked or browned for steak, add flour to make a thickening, incorporate this well and slowly add either water or milk until you have a nice gravy. Add your salt and pepper to taste or any other seasoning you may want. Pour this over biscuits or toast.

This was and still a mainstay in the family especially during hard times. I think Grandpa had another name for this but it cannot be repeated in Grandma's Cookbook.
