16 cucumbers, 4 inches long
1 quart white vinegar
2 T. mixed pickling spice
2 T. Salt

Directions:
Directions:
Wash cucumbers and drain. Place in a jar. Pour four quarts boiling water over cucumbers for four successive days, draining and using fresh water every day.
On the 5th day, slice cucumbers into 1/4 inch slices. Combine vinegar, sugar, spices, and salt and bring to a boil. Pour over cucumbers for four successive days, draining and reheating vinegar mixture each time. On the 5th day, pack into sterilized jars and cover with the boiling syrup. Seal and store.
