1/3 c. butter, softened
1 2/3 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 egg whites
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. unsweetened applesauce
3 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. baking cocoa
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground all spice
2 c. grated peeled tart apples
1/2 c. miniature semi sweet chocolate chips
1/2 tsp. confectioner's sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter and sugar until crumbly (about 2 minutes). Add eggs, then egg whites. Beat in buttermilk, applesauce and vanilla (will curdle). Stir in everything else. Add chips at the end. Put in fluted tube pan with spray. Bake at 325º for 50-60 minutes. Sprinkle with powder sugar.
