Ingredients:  
2 c all-purpose flour; 2 1/2 c sugar, divided; 4 tsp baking powder; 1 c milk; 2 tblsp vegetable oil; 2 cans cherry pie filling; 1/8 tsp almond extract.

Directions:
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, combine flour; 1 c sugar; baking powder; milk and oil; pour into a greased shallow 3 quart baking dish. In a bowl, combine cherries, extract and remaining sugar.
Spoon over batter. Bake at 375 for 40-45 minutes.
