2 c all-purpose flour
1 tblsp baking powder
1/2 tsp soda
1/4 tsp salt
2 tblsp sugar
1 tblsp grated orange rind
1/2 c butter, cut into small pieces
2/3 c buttermilk
1 c dried cranberries
1 tblsp milk
1 tsp sugar

Directions:

Preheat oven to 425º
Combine first 6 ingredients; cut in butter with pastry blender until crumbly.
Add buttermilk & cranberries, stirring just until moistened
Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface; knead 5-6 times. Pat into an 8" circle.
Cut circle into 8 wedges and place 1" apart on a lightly greased baking sheet.
Brush with milk and sprinkle with 1 tblsp sugar.
Bake at 425º for 15 minutes or until golden
