"Plain fresh bread, its crust shatteringly crisp. Sweet cold butter. There is magic in the way they come together in your mouth to make a single perfect bite."--Ruth Reichl

1 t. nutmeg
1/4 t. salt
1 t. baking powder

Directions:
Add flour for a soft dough and knead well. Roll out to about 1/2 inch and cut out doughnuts. Fry in hot oil. Roll in sugar and cinnamon.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Grandma had a certain big kettle she would bring the doughnuts over in. One day when the kids got home from school Dan said, "I sure like to see that pan on the table when I come home from school.". Nanette says they keep better in the pan than in a plastic container. They tend to get soggy in air tight container.
