2 c. flour 1 c. sugar 1 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 c. mashed ripe bananas (about 3) 1/2 c. shortening 2 eggs 1 c. chocolate chips 1/2 c. walnuts (optional)
Heat oven to 350º. Grease and flour bottom of bread pan. In large mixing bowl combine all ingredients except chocolate chips and nuts. Blend well on medium speed. Stir in chips and nuts. Pour into pan; bake 60-69 minutes. Cool 10 minutes. Remove from pan.
