Butter Crock-Pot.

Mix all ingredients, except apples. Layer apples and bread mixture in the Crock-Pot. Dot top with a few pats of butter.

Cook on low for 2-4 hours (High: 2 hours)

If not softening about 1/2 way through cooking time, add 1/2-3/4 c. water.

Serve warm with Cool Whip or ice cream, if desired.

Personal Notes:
I use Granny Smith apples, but you might try Golden Delicious or Pink Lady apples, too.
Cooked on low, the apples keep their shape, but if cooked on high, they break down more (like applesauce).

This smells delicious as it's cooking.
