1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
3 c. sifted flour
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. bkg. pwd.
4 eggs, unbeaten

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Mix bkg. pwd. with flour. Add flour mixture alternately with milk and vanilla to butter mixture. Add eggs last, beat well, but don't overbeat. Bake in greased and floured tube pan at 350 for 1 hr, 10 minutes.

This is a great, versatile recipe. Add walnuts to make a wonderful walnut cake. Add 3 additional tsp. bkg. pwd. for a 1-2-3 cake (lighter and less dense).
