2-1/4 cups flour 1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder 1-1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup shortening (part butter) 1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup milk, divided 2 eggs

Peanut Bar Frosting:

1/2 cup butter 1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup milk 1 tsp vanilla
3 cups powdered sugar

Directions:

Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Add shortening, vanilla and 3/4 cup milk. Beat vigorously with spoon or medium speed with mixer for 2 minutes. Scrape bowl frequently. Add 1/4 cup milk and eggs. Beat an additional 2 minutes. Bake 30-35 minutes in 350º oven, in 9x13 greased pan. Let cool. Prepare frosting by cooking butter, milk, and sugar for a few minutes. Add powdered sugar and vanilla. Mix well. Cut cooled cake into squares. Dip in frosting and roll in ground peanuts.
