1 package dates
1 c. sugar
1 c. water
2 1/2 c. oatmeal
1 c. brown sugar
Pinch of salt
1 c. butter
1 tsp. soda in 1 tbsp. hot water
2 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cut up dates; add sugar and water and bring to a good boil. Let stand while you mix the oatmeal, brown sugar, salt, butter, soda mixture and flour. Place half of dry mixture on cookie sheet. Spread filling over this, then rest of dry mixture on top. Bake 30 minutes or less at 350.
