1 c. butter
1 c. lard
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
4 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tsp. salt
1 c. nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, lard, and sugars together. Add eggs one at a time. Add vanilla. Add dry ingredients. Add nuts. Chill. Shape in balls the size of walnut. Dip tops in sugar. Bake 2 apart. Sprinkle several drops of water on each ball of dough. 350 for 15 minutes.
