1c. brown sugar
1/4c. shortening
1/4c. butter
1 egg
1 3/4c. flour
1 1/2tsp. baking powder
1/4tsp. salt
1tbsp. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and shortening; add sugar and well beaten egg. Mix. Add milk. Sift dry ingredients. Add half to bowl. Mix well. After each addition beat well. If dough is too soft add more flour. (It requires 2 tablespoons more flour and set in a cool place for and hour before rolling). Roll into small balls. Dip the print into flour and set on the ball, pressing firmly till the dough appears at the edge. This works best when the cookies are small. Dip print in flour each time it's used. Bake in a 400º oven till done.
