1 c. shortening 1 c. butter 1 c. brown sugar 1 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 3 eggs 1 tsp. cinnamon or vanilla 1 tsp. soda 4 1/2 c. flour nuts
Stir together flour, soda and salt; set aside. Cream shortening and butter, add sugars. Add eggs, beating well. Beat in vanilla or cinnamon. Stir in nuts. Add flour mixture. Pat into lined cake pan. Place in freezer. Slice into logs; then slice into cookies. Bake at 350º for 9 to 11 minutes.
