1 c. boiling water
1 c. chopped dates
1 tsp. soda
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. flour
Pinch salt
Directions:
Directions:
Pour boiling water over chopped dates, cool. Mix remaining ingredients. Place in greased pan. Put on top: 1/2 c. brown sugar, 1/2 c. chocolate chips, 1/4 c. chopped nuts. Bake 350º for 30 to 35 minutes.
