1 1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
1 c. applesauce
Directions:
Directions:
Stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and cloves; set aside. Cream shortening, add sugar. Add eggs, beating well. Alternately add flour mixture and applesauce to butter mixture. Spread batter in greased and floured cake pan. Sprinkle cake batter with a cinnamon and sugar mixture. Bake at 350º for 50 to 60 minutes.
