2 3/4 c. flour 3 tbsp. cocoa 1 tsp. salt 2 c. sugar 1/2 c. butter 3 eggs, one at a time. 1 tsp. soda ½ c. milk. 1 c. boiling water Fruit Nut Icing: 3 egg yolks 2/3 c. sugar 1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. white raisins 1/2 c. coconut 1/2 c. chopped nuts
Sift together, flour, cocoa and salt. Add sugar to butter. Blend in eggs, one at a time. Beat well after each. Combine soda with milk. Add gradually to creamed mixture. Add dry ingredients all at once and mix till blended. Stir in boiling water until well blended. Pour into greased pan. Fruit Nut Icing: Combine egg yolks and 2/3 c. sugar. Beat till thick and lemon colored. Pour into heavy saucepan. Add butter and raisins. Bring to a boil and cook over medium heat stirring constantly until thickened (5-7 minutes). Add coconut and chopped nuts. Spread immediately.
