One thing that my family is bad about is eating out on a regular basis. We might not let the kids eat junk but we frequently indulge in breakfast out. Today I stopped by Jack in the Box for a quick breakfast. When I got to work I decided to check how many calories were in my meal. I was shocked to find out that my breakfast bowl packed a whopping 780 calories, 543 of which come from fat! I immediately threw the rest of the meal away. I find that if I check how many calories are in my favorite fast food meals or coffee drinks, I am more willing to alter my food choices or give up foods entirely. I've already turned my favorite coffee drink into a low fat, hold the whip cream version and I don't miss a thing . . . except the excess calories!
