2 eggs, beaten
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. soft shortening
3/4 c. milk
3 1/2 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Beat first 3 ingredients. Stir in milk. Sift dry ingredients and stir in to wet mixture. Cover dough; chill for 2 hours. Roll dough until 1/2" thick. Cut with floured doughnut cutter. Fry doughnuts, 2 or 3 at a time in deep, hot oil (375) for about 1 minute on each side or until golden. Drain on paper towels.
