"A man who was fond of wine was offered some grapes at dessert after dinner. "Much obliged," said he, pushing the plate aside; "I am not accustomed to take my wine in pills."--Jean Antheleme Brillat-Savarin, The Physiology of Taste
This recipe for Earthquake Readiness, by Dorrie Herring, is from Herring Heritage Cookbook,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
Since I live in So. Calif and we never know when an earthquake might hit, I make it a point to keep a few cans of tuna in water and beef (I prefer Libby's) on hand, as well as several cans of veggies and fruits. They are all things we can eat if we have no gas or electricity. Also, keep a good non electric can opener in the drawer.
