Clip coupons, don't use the heater/AC unless it is absolutely necessary, walk or ride a bike instead of driving, get fresh and local produce cheaper at the farmerís market, always pick up pennies or other change when you see it on the sidewalk and then collect it in a jar so it doesn't get misplaced in the house. Most importantly...DON'T EAT OUT! As busy college students, eating out is the faster and easier way, but it is ridiculously expensive. Instead, every Sunday, I make a double portion of a healthy recipe, usually stir fried rice with fresh vegetables, and then freeze it for the week. Pete is contented with PB&J, but I prefer something hot.
