Listen, I HATE grocery shopping UNLESS I'm trying to feed the family better. That makes it more of an adventure. But, my most valuable tip would be.......ORGANIZATION. Make a menu, then a grocery list. Stick to the list. Goodness knows the market is SO MUCH MORE STRESSFUL when you take your kids with you. I used to leave mine at home with John. Then, I could get in and out, quickly. On the occasion that that wasn't reasonable and I had to take them, I told them they were not allowed to ask for anything. I reminded them before we went into the store, each and every time.

$$ SAVING TIP: Grocery-wise...eat a good meal BEFORE you go so you are not tempted to buy things you and your family don't need. Too much shopping is impulse shopping. Buy all of your detergents, diapers and personal hygiene items from Walmart, K-mart or Target. You can also get many grocery items from these kinds of stores. The things you have to go to the grocery store for you can usually find coupons for or buy on sale. Plan your menu around what's on sale and if you have coupons, take them along.
