1lb of unsalted butter at room temp
4 c flour
1 c sugar


1/4 c sugar for dusting

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, and sugar in mixer. Use attachment that is flat for best results.Gradually add 1c of flour at a time, Mix until mixture is soft but not sticky.
Press evenly into ungreased 9 x 13 cookie sheet. Using a fork pierce holes in shortbread in straight lines across and down. This keeps the shortbread from rising. Bake at325 for 45-50 min. Shortbread should be firm to the touch.Remove from oven, let cool 5 min, score into equal pieces Sprinkle with remaining sugar when slightly cooled.
