2 c. cornmeal
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
2 c. buttermilk
1 tbsp. bacon drippings

preheat oven to 425º place greased cast iron skillet in oven for 10 min. Mix all ingred. well but do not over mix. pour batter in hot greased pan bake 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
