4 to 4 1/4 c sifted flour (more as needed)
1 T. sugar
3 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 T. vinegar
1/2 c. water
1 3/4 c. shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, sugar and salt into a large bowl. Beat the egg and combine with vinegar and water. Cut shortening into flour until mixture looks pea size. Then, sprinkle with egg mixture, and mix all together. Gather the dough into a ball. Wrap in wax paper and chill for about 30 minutes. before using. This dough can be kept in the refrigerator up to 1 week, or you can divide it into 4 parts (1 pie shell each), wrap each securely and freeze.
