1 1/2 cup shortening 3 cups sugar 5 eggs 3 cups plain flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 4 Tbs. cocoa ( may be heaping if desired) 1 cup milk 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
Cream together shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each. Sift all dry ingredients together. Add dry ingredients and milk alternately to creamed mixture. Bake in a 10 inch tube pan at 325 degrees for 1 hour 20 minutes.
