Directions:Dissolve yeast and sugar in the warm water and allow to set about 10 minutes. Melt 1/2 stick of butter in the warm milk. Mix yeast with milk mixture. Mix in flour, one cup at a time (flour could be adjusted at this time. If sticky dough, add a little more flour; if dry do not add all 6 cups). Form dough into a ball and place in a greased bowl and cover. Set dough aside for about 1 hour in a warm place out of the breeze, or until double in size. Punch down down and turn out onto a lightly floured board, knead lightly. Allow to rest for several minutes then start separating rolls. The pinches should be 1oz. or just smaller than a golf ball. Form into balls and place on a sheet pan or place in a roll pan. Brush with the melted butter and allow to rise again until doubled in size. Brush with egg wash and bake in a preheated 350º oven until lightly browned or about 20 minutes. Check on rolls for doneness. If cooked all the way through, place on cooling rack. |

Personal
Notes: I like to make saw tooth rolls with this bread. I roll the dough into ovals and make a little clip with a pair of scissors along one side then let it rest. These little cuts make a roll look like a saw blade. A nice and little different presentation.
