9 C of apples
6 C sugar
1 package of red hots
1/2 C vinegar

Peel, core and slice thin your apples and place in a large sauce pan. Add all ingredients and start out low on medium heat cooking and stirring for 25 minutes or until apples are soft enough to mash into applebutter consistency and the red hots are melted.

This is a VERY old recipe that Granny (Clema) Henson made often. It will be bright red and taste very sweet and cinnamony.

Due to it's candy like flavor, I added 2 Tablespoons of cinnamon powder to see how it tasted and like it a lot better. I now use the exact recipe only add the cinnamon and since we have 3 pear trees I use our pears instead of apples which turn out wonderful. It's SUPER yummy!
