1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/3 c. milk
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cinnamon

Cream butter, sugar and egg. Add other ingredients and mix well. Roll out on floured surface. Cut into shapes. If dough is sticky add a little more flour. Bake at 400 for 5-7 minutes. Cool and frost.
