8 apples peeled
1/2 C water
1 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 C sifted flour
3/4 C sugar
1/2 C butter

Directions:
Directions:
Slice apples into baking dish. Add water and cinnamon. Sift flour and sugar together and then cut in butter. Spread this crumb mixture over apples and bake in a moderate oven at 350º for 45 minutes, or until apples are tender. Cut into squares, serve crisp side up, hot or cold, with whipped cream, hard sauce or vanilla ice cream.
