2 lbs. frozen hash browns
1/2 cup melted butter
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 cup onions, chopped
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 pint sour cream
2 cups shredded cheddar or more taste

2 cups crushed corn flakes
1/4 cup melted butter

Defrost potatoes. Combine melted butter, salt, pepper, onions, soup, & sour cream in large bowl, stirring to blend well. Add potatoes and blend thoroughly. Add cheese, stirring to blend well. Pour into buttered 9 x 13 casserole. Sprinkle with topping (see below). Bake at 350 for 45 minutes, or until potatoes are soft.

Topping: place corn flakes in large plastic bag; pour in melted butter, and shake until corn flakes are covered with butter.
