1/4 Cup of Shortening
2/3 Cups of Sugar
2 Eggs Beaten
2 Cups of Flour
1 Tsp. of Baking Powder
1 Tsp. of Baking Soda
1 Tsp. of Salt
2 Cups of Coarsely Grated Apples
1 Tbsp. of Grated Lemon Peel
2/3 Cups fo Chopped Walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream Shortening and Sugar Until Light and Fluffy. Beat in the Eggs, Sift Flour, Baking Powder and Baking Soda, Salt. Add Dry Ingredients Alternately with Apples to the Batter, Stir in Lemon Peel and Walnuts. Put in Greased and Floured 8x5x3 loaf pan.

Bake at 350º For 50-60 Minutes. Do Not Slice Until Bread is totally Cool.
