2 c. fresh blueberries washed and drained
3/4 c. sugar
2 T. lemon juice
1 1/4 c. fork- stirred flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 large egg
1/2 c. milk
Unbaked 9" pie shell

In a medium saucepan, over moderate heat, gently stir together the blueberries, 1/2 c, of the sugar and the lemon juice until the sugar dissolves and the mixture simmers. Let the sauce stand off heat to cool to lukewarm.
In a medium bowl cream the butter with the remaining 1/4 c. sugar and the vanilla; add the egg and beat until blended. Add the flour mixture in 2 additions, alternately with the milk, beating gently each time just until smooth. Fold in the lukewarm blueberry mixture just enough to marble. Pour into the unbaked pie shell.
Bake in preheat 375º oven until a toothpick comes out clean. About 35 min.Serve warm.
