2c. raisins
1c. water
1tsp. baking soda
1c. shortening
1c. brown sugar
1c. white sugar
3 eggs, well beaten
3c. plus 3tbsp. flour
1/2tsp. salt
1tsp. baking powder
1tsp. cinnamon
1tsp. vanilla
1/4tsp. nutmeg
1c. chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Boil the raisins and the water for 5 minutes. Then stir in the 1 teaspoon of baking soda. Set aside to cool. Mix all the ingredients in a separate bowl. Then stir in the first mixture. Bake in a 375 oven until done.
