CREAM TOGETHER:

2/3 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar

ADD IN:
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla

SIFT TOGETHER (in separate bowl):

1 and 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

STIR TOGETHER THE TWO MIXTURES.

ADD (gently):
1 c. chocolate chips

USE A TABLESPOON TO DROP COOKIES ONTO UNGREASED COOKIE SHEET ABOUT 2in. APART.

BAKE 8 TO 10 MIN. (on 350°).

TRANSFER TO COOLING RACK TO COOL.
