Shortening
Brown Sugar
Egg
Vanilla
Salt
Flour
Jelly

Directions:
Directions:
Cream:
1 c. shortening
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 egg yolks

Add and mix well:
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt

Shape dough into balls. Dip into beaten egg whites, then finely chopped nuts.
Bake 350º 5 minutes. Open oven and using a thimble, make a dent in the center of each cookie. Bake 8 more minutes.
When cool, fill dent with jelly.
