Shortening
Brown Sugar
Egg
Applesauce
Flour
Soda
Salt
Cinnamon or Nutmeg
Cloves

Cream:
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg

Add and mix well:
1/2 c. applesauce
2 1/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. cinnamon or nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cloves

Mix in:
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. raisins
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Bake 375º 10-12 minutes
