4 1 oz. squares Unsweetened Baking Chocolate
1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
1 c. Butter
1 c. Nuts, chopped
2 c. sugar (I cut this in half)
1 c. Flour, sifted
3 Eggs, beaten
¼ tsp. Salt

Directions:
Directions:
Melt Chocolate and Butter over hot water in double boiler. Remove from heat. Add Sugar, Eggs, and Vanilla. Mix well. Stir in Nuts. Mix Flour and Salt; add gradually mixing well. Pour into greased and floured 9” square pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 45- 50 min. Cool before cutting.

These were made by the sister of a friend my first year of college - I haven’t found a recipe I like as well since then – they are dense, and not too sweet, I like them plain, but you can add frosting if you must!
