6qt. chopped crab apples and boiling water 4tsp. cream of tartar 2c. sugar
Remove stems and blossom ends and chop. Add boiling water and cream of tartar. Cover with a tea towel and let sit for 24 hours. Strain juice and add sugar. Boil 5 minutes. Bottle. For variation add some cranberry or raspberry juice
