1 cup One minute oatmeal
1/2 cup boiling water
Bring to a boil and let stand with the lid on.

1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
Cream shortening and sugars, add eggs.

Add and blend well.
3/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/2 cups flour

Topping:
9 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 cup coconut
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup evaporated milk
1 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Put in a 9 x 13 rectangle pan that is greased and floured. Bake at 350º about 40 minutes.

Topping:
Melt butter and add remaining ingredients. Spread over cake and put under broiler to brown. Watch closely.
