"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain
This recipe for Cheese Ball, by Vicki Boord, is from Family Blessings Cookbook,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
1 8oz pkg cream cheese 1 jar of Old English Cheese spread 1/2 tsp of garlic salt 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce Crushed walnuts
Mix cream cheese and Old English cheese together (best of both are at room temp) add garlic salt and Worcestershire sauce. Make into a half ball (never stiff enough to roll into a ball so I just put mine on a plate) Top with crushed nuts (could substitute pecans or almonds)
My mom used to make this for Christmas Eve every year (and only at Christmas Eve) so my brother and I savored every bite. Now that my mom and dad go south for the winter I now make this for Christmas eve, but also during Husker games! My boys love this as much as I do.
