2 cups water ground plain meal 1/2 cup plain flour salt to taste (about 1 tsp.)
Mix all ingredients and add enough water to make a medium batter. Heat bacon grease in a large skillet and drop batter in by spoonfuls. Brown on one side, turn and brown on the other side. Drain on paper towels and serve hot. Add more water if batter gets too thick. These are good with tomatoes or honey, syrup or just by themselves.
