1 lb fresh asparagus
¼ cup butter, melted
3 T minced onion
3 T finely chopped celery
2 T grated parmesan
2 T freshly grated bread crumbs
4 canned Italian tomatoes, drained and diced
Pinch thyme
Pinch oregano
Salt and freshly ground pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Break off tough ends of asparagus spears. Pour butter in bottom of rectangular baking dish. Line with onion, celery, cheese, bread crumbs, and diced tomatoes in this order. Season with oregano, thyme, and salt and pepper to taste. Cover and bake at 375 for 45 minutes, or until asparagus is tender. (This looks very attractive if asparagus is arranged in dish with tips pointing alternately to the left and right. Sprinkle topping down the center, leaving tips showing).
